Minimally Invasive Surgery
Led by Dr. Huy Nguyen, physicians at Advanced Surgical Associates in San Jose, California, have been leaders in surgical care since 1997. They have adopted and perfected minimally invasive techniques for a broad array of operations including general surgical, laparoscopic, robotic, and bariatric (weight loss) procedures.
Minimally Invasive Surgery — Laparoscopic and Robotic
Our minimally invasive procedures use miniaturized surgical instruments, fiber optic technology, and video monitoring equipment, to allow surgeons to enter the body through small, “keyhole” incisions and perform procedures with far less disturbance of surrounding structures. Using da Vinci robotic technology, physicians are able to complete complex procedures within the body with minimal damage to other organs.
The impact is dramatic. Many operations that once required large incisions, lengthy hospital stays, and long recovery periods are largely replaced by “minimally invasive” surgeries performed with the laparoscope. Laparoscopic surgery can be used effectively for the treatment of hernias, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, shoulder and knee pain, gall bladder removal, appendectomies, hysterectomies, and many other conditions.
